celebrate Black Owned Businesses in the communities in which they serve
MEET THE FOUNDER

Chad Grimes is the founder/CEO of Black Business Roc LLC, a platform designed to align networking opportunities for Black -owned businesses and their communities. Born and raised in Rochester NY, Chad was raised by a single parent mother with 2 other siblings. A graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School in 2000, he also has a degree in Culinary Arts from the Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts located in Pittsburgh PA.
His work includes:

Organizing the Black Business ROC Black Tie Gala, which has been held annually since 2019. The event honors and celebrates local black owned businesses for their contributions and service to the communities in which they serve. Recognized and awarded by the City of Rochester and nominated for event of the year by the 2020 ROC Awards.

Before devoting his work to Black Business ROC, Chad was the owner/operator of CG’s House of Bounce, a delivery party rental service that served his hometown of Rochester, NY. Serving his community for 10 years whose clients include The Rochester City school District, Baden Street Settlement, Clarissa Street Festival, Greece Central School District, and Urban League of Rochester.

Chad has given service of 15 years to The State of New York, where he assisted individuals with developmental disabilities.

In addition to Black Business ROC LCC, Chad is also the co owner of 4 The Funnel of It funnel cakes, a gourmet funnel cake business which launched in 2021.
Black Business Roc is not about who makes the most money or even who’s more popular. We all deserve to be honored and respected. I’m just carrying out the vision that God has given me.
